POETRY | MIGRATION | ROOTS

Here we are

A poem

Packing up lives our again
Like nomads looking for water
Moving countries, it feels like arranged marriages-
Economics first, and love after.

And yet, we plant the perennials
Not knowing if we’ll stay to see the ferns
Or maybe, we sense deep within
That the point of migration is to someday return.
